Meet Joseph Linahon

Son of a jazz musician and a choir singer, Joseph was raised in a house full of music. Seeing his father James don a suit and tie to perform Jazz with the likes of Frank Sinatra, Elvis Pressley and Earth, Wind & Fire inspired a passion for live music for Joseph from an early age.

About Joseph

Background and musical journey

A native of Pacific Palisades, California, younger years were full of football, martial arts and wild adventures in the wilderness. Lord of the Rings was an early glimpse into the fantastical elements of our world, and an upbringing full of pride in heritage and history kept elements of Celtic culture fresh in his mind. The years after high school saw Joseph performing 5 string bass and clean singing duties in melodic death mental band Sirion. After marrying his beloved Maria, a move north to Oregon in 2016 reinspired an appreciation of folk and traditional music.

A chance encounter introduced the Irish Bouzouki into his life, and after a brief stint creating melodic folk with his project Endalos, Joseph found himself performing Celtic folk music as a solo act in 2021. A solo EP “The Winter Sun Sessions” and subsequent music mideo “Come Out Ye Black and Tans” opened doors for live shows and initial festival appearances around the Pacific Northwest. Singing the songs of The Dubliners, Planxty and other folk favorites, he was soon was joined by two longtime friends to create The AML Trio in the fall of 2023.
